              _Welcome to Brean Landyacht Club.
The earliest records of land yachting on Brean sands appear round 1920, when locals sailed for fun, having made yachts from the remains of World War 1 aircraft. 70 years later the Brean Land Yachting
Club is still going from strength to strength.
Since then Brean has produced many fine 'pilots'. Yes, that's what people who sail land yachts are called. It's not a surprising term really, as these wind driven chariots can get up to dizzying speeds. 60mph is not unknown!

What's more, land yachting is one of the only sports where men and women can compete on totally equal terms. Performance is generated by skill, feel and technique, not physicality. This all comes together to make a truly fantastic sporting pastime for young, old, male or female alike in the heart of the South West.
So if reading this makes you think you'd like to see what all the fuss is about, you're in luck. Brean holds regular trial days in their fleet of training yachts. It's a great way to test the water before you commit to membership.
Based in the southwest of England, in Somerset's cider country within easy reach of junction 22 M5 motorway.
